Cllr Milton Martin

Elected to the council in Cathall Ward as a Labour councillor Milton has decided to leave the Labour Party and join the Liberal Democrats. This makes him the 21st member of the Liberal Democrat group on the Council. Milton says: "I have left the Labour Party because it has now lost its way both locally and nationally. It no longer represents the ideals it had when I joined 35 years ago. The party has moved too far to the right and has become a clone of the Tory Party. Where working class people are concerned I believe they have been abandoned by the Labour Party who no longer represent their interests. After speaking to the Lib Dems, I realise that they are working for everyone, including working class people. That has now lead me to feel more at home with the Lib Dems. I will continue to work for you, the people of Cathall Ward. It will be business as usual.
