More action is needed in Wanstead to combat the spate of robberies and burglaries in the High Street and surrounding area. Recently we have had bank and supermarket raids, shoplifting and muggings in the High Street, as well as an increase in burglaries locally. Local Campaigner Kate Garrett says ' The more we hear about the crimes taking place in Wanstead it becomes more important that the police station is not closed and more obvious that more police officers are needed'.
