The consultants who were called in to look at designating conservation areas in Grove Park and Counties Estates have come up with six areas that they believe should be defined as having special historic or architectural interest. Their report lists 6 areas of which they say three should be considered. The 6 areas are: West Grosvenor, East Grosvenor and Counties Estate, Nutter Lane and the recreation ground, Grove Park and The Avenue, late 1930s houses in the Counties Estate and mixed period housing on Nutter Lane and Elm Hall Gardens.Kate Garrett says: "We need to designate the whole area a conservation area to keep the character of the neighbourhood and to protect our trees and green areas. Well done to the Counties residents and Wanstead Society for driving this through".
