The Council has recently been consulting on plans to build an all-through school on part of the Leyton County cricket ground. George Mitchell School would be demolished and, together with Beaumont Primary School, moved to the northern end of the cricket ground where the bowls and tennis courts are. Norlington Boys School would then be relocated to a new building on the George Mitchell site in Farmer Road. Whilst new schools and improved sports facilities in Leyton are what are needed to give our children the best start in life, Leyton and Wanstead Liberal Democrats will be closely monitoring the results of the consultation. We will make sure that residents' concerns and questions are not overlooked. If you have any questions or concerns that you have not already submitted then please contact the website or your local Focus Team.
