Liberal Democrats work all year round not just at election time9.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 19th Jun 2008 The Liberal Democrats and their focus teams work all year round and not just at election time. June's action file in one ward only includes; Weeds, Forest Glade, Essex Road, James Lane and Halford, Fulready, Eatington Roads. Weeds Residents of many roads have complained about weeds growing in gutters and pavements. Your Lib Dem Focus Team has been told that weed spraying and clearing, which should have been done, has not taken place this year. New contractors have arranged for special teams to pull out the weeds and spray. The Focus Team will be monitoring progress. Forest Glade - James Lane More litter bins have been requested in the Forest Glade area as litter is being dropped by inconsiderate people using the forest as a short cut. Essex Road The Lib Dem Focus Team has asked for road signs at the junction of James Lane and Essex Road, showing drivers of heavy lorries the way to the North Circular and the M25. We hope that this may stop some heavy lorries using Essex Road as a cut through. Halford, Fulready, Eatington Roads The Focus Team has asked the Council if there are any plans to alleviate the parking problems in Halford, Fulready and Eatington Roads. People using Whipps Cross Hospital are avoiding the parking charges by parking in these roads.
